I know that embarking upon a new course can be a stressful experience. You worry: Is this the right course for me? What will I learn? Will I see a return on my investment?
Above all, I want you to be happy.
My son just graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast with a substantial debt of ~£20,000. My daughter is currently in the second year of a jewellery degree at Glasgow School of Art. She expects to graduate with a debt of ~£60,000.
I established designtrack because debt levels of £60,000+ are a terrible burden and I believe education should be affordable. I’m trying to balance relatively low cost, affordable courses with much-needed one-to-one learning.
I’m being 100% honest because I am trying something new in education. We are not a bootcamp. We’re not about a ‘one size fits all’ model of education, because that model doesn’t work. Every learner has different needs, that’s something I am working hard to accommodate.
Here are some frequently asked questions. If I’ve overlooked anything, please email me.

We will focus on establishing a realistic and achievable learning pathway bespoke to you.
Yes, lots! I’ve been teaching the material that this course is based on for over a decade. It’s all tried and tested. Here’s what one of my recent learners, Tom Jepson, had to say:
Christopher helped me bring my portfolio to life. I cannot thank him enough for his help in driving me forwards, holding me accountable and helping me focus on the areas I needed to focus on. Without his help I couldn’t have done this….
The primary course requirement is a passion to embrace the challenge ahead and do the work required to succeed. I can’t give you the desire, but I can give you the tools you need to succeed.
Finally, participants on the course will need some work in order to populate the portfolio.
No. We are not a ‘one size fits all’ bootcamp.
There is no ‘one size fits all’ model of education, instead I tailor my teaching to each and every individual. I will work with you to help you articulate a definition of success, then I’ll work with you to create a map that will get you there.
No. The course is a combination of: live webinars, where you can ask questions and get answers; directed exercises; reading; case studies; occasional written lessons; self-evaluations; and feedback that I will provide and your peers will offer.
No. You get lifetime access to the course materials and to the designtrack Slack community. This enables you to work at your own pace: if you have a busy week or find yourself needing to take more time to complete an exercise, you won’t be rushed or left behind.
Rest assured, you’ll have my full support throughout.
I’m working on this. I want everyone to be 100% happy. Watch this space as I think this through.
